Instant Payments & Interoperability — MVP
The problem. In Central Africa, Mobile Money operators and banks live in silos: moving money between them is slow, costly and opaque. The goal — an interoperable instant-payments backbone where a payment moves from one actor to another in real time, with standardised messaging and strong guarantees.
What I built (MVP)
- ISO 20022-inspired messaging and a central switch routing payments between actors.
- Real time: event queue, idempotency and delivery guarantees (at-least-once with deduplication).
- End-to-end traceability of every transaction and cross-actor reconciliation.
- A transaction state machine (initiated, authorised, settled, failed, refunded) to prevent inconsistent states.
What it demonstrates. A concrete grasp of critical transactional systems: reliability, consistency and industry standards — exactly what a real-time financial system demands.
